Cardiff Pipes Beach

Encinitas California – You have been made ready. .
.
Sitting down by the beach this morning and I watched the most recent behind the scenes video from @joannagaines on how they transform their store before each season. Such a rad video. Seriously go watch it, the message is amazing.
.
.
The message is simple, that you have been made ready. Ready for whatever you’re facing right now. .
.
Let that soak in for a minute. You have been made ready. .
.
You have. Now let’s go out and face today, and make it a masterpiece. Much love. 📷@joannagaines

Encinitas – Encinitas, California

Encinitas California – Find your pace, and then keep it steady. .
.
This past week I hiked 47miles. Nothing crazy or strenuous, just the accumulation of my daily hikes. Now if I had ran instead of walked, there isn’t a chance in the world that I would have done that many miles! I would have maxed out at like 5. Haha. Because the pace I need to keep for me to get in 47miles in a week, and not have my knees and hips screaming in pain, is a walking pace. .
.
Now did I get these miles done as fast as someone who was running an 8min mile, heck no! But did I get the miles in. Oh yeah. .
.
The same is true when it comes to building our brands. If we focus on what others are doing, and how fast they’re doing it. And then we try and hold a pace that isn’t something we can do consistently. What’s going to happen? We’re going to burn out at the 5mile mark and stop. Get discouraged and want to quit. .
.
We’ve made this mistake before. Probably the most recent was with our blog. We were blogging daily, until we added on this detailed SEO process to our daily blogs. It was too much for us to sustain on a daily basis and our blog suffered the consequences. Time to go back to our steady pace! Because it’s much better to blog consistently than to only blog once in a while, even if that blog post is SEO’d to the max! .
.
So dear friend, find your pace. A pace that you can keep steady and consistent. Don’t worry about the speed that others are charging at. Because the key to winning the race is a steady pace in a focused direction. Remember that good old tortoise! It’s much better to walk and get there, than to sprint and burn out after the first 5miles. Right!? .
.
So let’s do this friend. Let’s find our pace and make today a masterpiece. Much love.

Encinitas – Cardiff Pipes Beach

Encinitas California – There is something only you can do. Just as each human has unique fingerprints, each of us has a unique call on our lives. .
.
I’m almost done with the book Mastery and in it Greene, the author, tells tons of stories about masters of different industries. One of the recent stories I just listened to was about the Wright brothers. .
.
Most of us are familiar with their story and the role they played in the invention of airplanes. What I didn’t know was how little they had in terms of funding and the scope of engineers and designers they were going up against. .
.
Just like there was a race to get to the moon first, there was a race to see who could engineer sustained flight first. And the Wright brothers were in this race. Two brothers with no financial backing, no engineering background and who were going up against the greatest engineering minds of their time. .
.
It would be like someone in their college dorm room going up against Elon Musk. Which would seem pointless and impossible, right!?
.
.
All that these two brothers had was a love of bicycles and a passion for figuring out this puzzle of flight. They were the ultimate bootstrapers who couldn’t rely on funding or their reputation. All they had was their God given abilities, grit and a passion for solving this one puzzle. .
.
There might be something you know in your core that you are supposed to do. You don’t have financial backing and the competition is fierce in your industry. But still you know you’re supposed to pursue your life’s task. We’re here to tell you to stop doubting and start taking action. .
.
The Wright brothers didn’t let what they lacked stand in their way and neither should we. Instead I’m sure they focused on all that they did have and then bootstrapped the crap out of all of it! So go for it friend. Life is too short and there is something you were made to do. Go do it. Much love.
